The Director of Community Development manages the day-to-day activities of the Community Development Department. In addition to providing staff support to the Planning Commission, the director is responsible for current and advanced planning.
The department:
Meets with prospective developers to explain City codes and to review proposed projects
Relays information to the public
Reviews building permit applications for compliance with the City code
Plan check working drawings for the same purpose
Enforces the zoning code
Reviews and prepares Initial studies, negative declarations and EIR's
Assists in the processing of development applications through City departments, Planning Commission and City Council
Checks of business license inspections
