Climate Resilience Plan Available for Public Review

Post Date:06/28/2019 3:38 PM

Following months of feedback from people across the eastern Coachella Valley, the City of Coachella and Coachella Valley Association of Governments have developed a draft Eastern Coachella Valley Action Plan for Climate Resilience. It is now available for public review.

The plan incorporates multiple projects across Coachella, Thermal, Mecca, North Shore and Oasis that help disadvantaged communities increase resilience to climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and expand affordable housing options. It identifies housing, transportation and recreational needs and potential funding sources.

Those with questions or comments about the Eastern Coachella Valley Action Plan for Climate Resilience can contact Jacob Alvarez, City of Coachella Assistant to the City Manager, at jalvarez@coachella.org by July 19, 2019.
