Project Overview
The City of Coachella completed the Coachella Rail Station Feasibility Study to evaluate a potential station location along the future Coachella Valley Rail (CV Rail) route and to develop coordinated land use and connectivity plans for the surrounding area. The proposed CV Rail service would provide daily passenger rail connections between Downtown Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, and the Coachella Valley. The study included community workshops and events, technical advisory meetings, and identified Site #2 in the historic downtown Pueblo Viejo as the potential station location. The study culminated in a Final Station Area Plan and refined station design concepts which can be found in the resources section below.

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
The TAC has been convened to provide expert guidance and feedback throughout the planning process. Composed of industry professionals and key stakeholders, the TAC ensures that the project is aligned with best practices, community needs, and technical feasibility. Their insights are integral to shaping the design and operational aspects of the proposed rail station.

Next Steps
With the Feasibility Study complete, the City of Coachella will advance implementation of the Final Station Area Plan to support future housing and commercial development, open space enhancements, and improved connectivity for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and vehicles within the station area. At the regional level, the Riverside County Transportation Commission has approved $80 million to initiate the next phase of environmental review, station planning, and preliminary design for the Coachella Valley Rail (CV Rail) program, which proposes a 144-mile intercity passenger rail corridor between Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley. Although construction funding has not yet been identified and service remains several years away, project development is continuing at both the local and regional levels.
